The interview provides information and personal observations about Woodrich's experiences: hearing about the 10th Mountain Division while in high school; basic training at Camp Fannin, Tex.; joining the Division at Camp Swift, Tex.; being number 1 scout at Riva Ridge; arriving in the Po Valley and crossing Lake Garda on a DUKW; mines in the tunnels; being at Lake Garda at the end of the war; after the war, remaining in the reserves for 8 years and being based at Camp McCoy, Wis.

Steven Woodrich was born in Minn. on December 28, 1925, and enlisted in the Army on February 24, 1944 at Fort Snelling. At the time of his enlistment he was unmarried, had completed four years of high school. Woodrich joined the 10th Mountain Division at Camp Swift, Tex. where he was assigned to Company F of the 86th Infantry Regiment.
